Wafer Processing Modules

Sub-System Assembly wafer processing

Innovent is making wafer management assemblies that are part of a broader system-level application.

Wafer Handling and Orientation

Innovent has two decades of experience manufacturing, assembling, aligning/calibrating, and testing the internal mechanisms required to handle wafer movement both in vacuum and atmosphere environments.

Depending on the assembly, required movement may involve simply transporting in a single horizontal plane, flipping, or even clamping vertically for immersion. We produce high-quality finished electromechanical assemblies that are tested, qualified, and ready to install.

Wafer Cleaning

Cleaning is a specific subset of wafer handling that brings the added challenges of DI/cleaning fluid pumping, distribution, and management, as well as optical orientation sensing, wafer clamping, and high-speed rotation for spin drying.

Electromechanical Box Build

Sub-System Power Distribution and Controller

Most equipment has box build assemblies in place to provide power distribution along with motion and automation control.

Power Distribution Boxes

Innovent produces custom control boxes and power distribution panels (PDUs). Our box build capabilities support various products in semiconductor, life science equipment and other industries.

Our manufacturing, engineering, and production teams create modification drawings for standard enclosures and back panels. Then, our machine shop modifies the enclosure accordingly. This is typically done during the material procurement phase.

Once all the material has been received, the enclosure and panel will be ready to be populated, reducing the build time significantly.

Motion Control Boxes

Innovent manufactures a variety of PLC, PAC, and PC-based motion controllers for our customers. As an electromechanical assembly contract manufacturer, we are well-versed in manufacturing not just the controllers themselves but also the mechanisms they control.

Additionally, we have the capability to test and qualify these systems as a stand-alone sub-assembly or as a fully integrated mechanism into a larger process tool or other piece of equipment.

An example would be a 5-axis transport for wafers through the front end of semiconductor processing tools. Another is manufacturing and testing controllers integrated with surgical robots and circuit boards.

Optical Light Source Assemblies

Sub-System Assembly Lamp Head Power Supplies

Broadband light sources are used for complex scientific and engineering applications in semiconductor manufacturing, life sciences, and more.

Product Tracking Requirements

Data tracking is a critical component of the production process. Each lamp assembly has attributes recorded in a database to enable future reference: serial numbers for the top-level electromechanical assembly and critical subcomponents, the date produced, the job number, the personnel involved, and detailed test data.

Final acceptance Testing

Testing is performed in a laser-safe isolation room within the Class 100 (ISO 5) cleanroom. Each assembly is evaluated for proper operation of a safety interlock system and trouble-free ignition. Once ignition is initiated, a slew of parameters are displayed and recorded.

After key parameters stabilize, the test technician tunes the optics to focus and maximize light output. At the same time, the lamp completes a minimum burn-in period of 30 minutes at full power. Performance and output results are stored for future availability.
