Does your electromechanical equipment project require some or all of the following criteria?

A collaborative and flexible business arrangement?

Perhaps you have an idea or proof-of-concept for a prototype electromechanical box build, a complex piece of equipment, tool or even a process that will need to go through several stages of development to prove out the design before maturing it to an efficient and repeatable manufacturing process. We’ll present you with a business proposal that will clearly identify the financial impact, the risks, and the timing to take your product through all these phases. This flexibility will guarantee you the shortest time to market. Does your electromechanical equipment project require some or all of the following criteria?

Engineering resources to work through the concept and design phases?

We assign a specific engineer at the onset of the relationship. This single point of contact, backed by the support of the entire organization, provides an unparalleled level of service. We are experts in cost reduction through manufacturing process refinement and product redesign. We can import native models, enhance your existing designs, and conduct materials research and stress analysis. We will engage directly and continually with your marketing or engineering teams to ensure accurate specifications and timely development schedules. Our goals in the Concept and Design phases are to work with you to develop the concept and to achieve design and cost specification within the time allotted no matter how many times you make changes. Does your electromechanical equipment project require some or all of the following criteria?

Precision machined or other fabricated or welded components?

You’ll benefit from a combination of our unique manufacturing capability and the vertical integration we can provide for your fabricated components as well as your OEM parts. Raw material is transformed into highly refined components through our CNC precision machining centers, welding, and polishing processes. Some of those components move on to our clean work cells, depending on your requirements for assembly, test and qualification on larger tools and systems. Does your electromechanical equipment project require some or all of the following criteria?

Assembly, test and/or process validation?

We can produce complex assemblies ranging from box builds and electro-mechanical modules to complete system integration. We can utilize your product manufacturing documentation or create it internally in coordination with you. We can adopt and maintain your manufacturing tooling and fixtures or develop our own in-house. We’re not limited by product complexity or size, and we’ll perform qualification testing to validate integrity and operating performance to your specifications. Continuing engineering support for DfM?

Innovent’s Manufacturing Engineers support our contract manufacturing services. They focus on ensuring we properly absorb, document, and produce your products to your specifications with efficiency. Our MFEs are experts in cost reduction achieved through manufacturing process refinements and product redesign. Innovent develops and maintains process controls within all its manufacturing operations. The MFE’s support the Contract Manufacturing services by developing and maintaining process controls throughout the varying phases of production refinement. Specialized facility requirement?

We are uniquely equipped to be able to comply with a variety of cleanliness protocols to produce finished products in a highly regulated white room or clean room environment. The white room offers the option of having your products manufactured in an ISO 7 or 8 environment. Typically, such tools and equipment are destined for laboratory use or semiconductor fabs. The clean room offers ISO 5 and 6 level of cleanliness. This much higher level of cleanliness is critical for the manufacturing process requirements associated with optics, semiconductor and robotics components and assemblies. Operations provided in white rooms include final assembly, calibration, leak check and inspection. Additional services including DI water cleaning, N2 drying and vacuum sealing, and clean packaging are offered in the clean room. Stringent quality specification?

Quality standards are defined by you as our customer and the ISO 9001 requirements. It is the personal responsibility of each employee to understand and meet these Quality requirements while maximizing protection of our environment, health, and safety. The services we provide include full functional electrical and mechanical certification, vendor traceable certificates, dry helium leak detection, micron CNC particle testing, residual moisture analysis, (< 10 PPB), CMM, borescope weld inspection, and surface finish profilometry. Operational support including supply chain management

Once the product becomes stable or at the point where the standard ordering process is all that’s required, a Customer Service Representative will engage with your procurement team to process orders, provide acknowledgments, and most importantly provide constant feedback on the status of your orders. We work with discrete PO’s, Blanket POs, and/or Multiyear Manufacturing Agreements. Innovent and customer meetings or quarterly business reviews are encouraged to address forecasts, production status, Innovent & supplier performance, ECO’s, engineering value adds, and cost reduction. Additional services offered are min/max Inventory level, liability, product quality & qualification, packaging, and shipping (direct to customers if preferred), spares and repair support.

A Proven Strategy:

Two founders from MIT approached us many years ago about manufacturing prototype tools to demonstrate proof-of-concept of a revolutionary ALD process for the semiconductor industry. They were in search of a business partner who had the capability to take their proof-of-concept laboratory tool and turn it into a reproducible and reliable electromechanical manufactured product. Once a business plan was agreed on, our engineers set to work driving a DFM project using only design concepts and process parameters as the guide for this complex electromechanical system design. Critical to the design was control of various parameters such as gas flow, heating, cooling, and vacuum. The final design called for numerous custom components. Many were fabricated and assembled in-house such as precision machined and welded vacuum chambers, plate heaters, and process gas lines. We relied on our well-established supply chain for others such as frame weldments, electronics boxes, and outer enclosure panels. As the design progressed and the BOM grew, there were many commercial components and specialty parts that needed to be sourced, some from an existing supply chain but many others from new suppliers. This included power distribution, controls, heaters, vacuum, and gas distribution components. Our engineers were able to design a tool from the ground up that continues to be a staple product line in our portfolio of high mix / low to medium volume electromechanical manufactured products. Through a continued DFM program, the product has evolved into several different models and enhanced with technology advancements and increased reliability. This customer relies heavily on us to handle everything from manufacturing engineering problem solving, cost reduction, supplier quality, and product validation to ship directly to global customers.

ALD Technology:

The ALD tools we manufacture offer precise control down to the atomic scale. This is accomplished through sequential pulsing of special precursor vapors, each of which forms about one atomic layer during each pulse (reaction cycle). Reaction cycles are then repeated until the desired film thickness is achieved. One atomic layer deposition systems are designed to deposit pinhole-free coatings that are perfectly uniform in thickness, even deep inside pores, trenches, and cavities. These tools require finite control of gas flow, temperature, vacuum, and other critical parameters.
